Let the Wedding Festivities Begin!

We have our first wedding guest arriving this aftternoon - Aunt Sandi from Minnesota will be here around 4:30! I'm so excited for everyone to get here.

Our house is still a disaster, but I think we'll be able to get it all picked up before 4:30. The big stuff is mostly done.

Corry's really excited for everyone to get here. Drew has no clue. Drew was horrible yesterday, so it makes me really nervous for when company gets here. He's learned how to throw temper tantrums and he had 3 of them yesterday. Let the games begin.

Corry went with me to the grocery store yesterday. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot she told me that she's a good girl at the store. And she was a perfect little princess the whole time. I hope when Drew gets a little older he enjoys going to the store. Right now he screams the entire time because he wants to get down and run and I won't let him. He certainly is a strong willed little guy!

Well, I'd better go and work on getting this house into shape. I'm sure I'll have some wedding adventure posts next week!

Another Poop Post

So, I wasn't going to post this, but Deachi insisted I do - it just seems like every other post of mine is about poop. So, Corry pooped in her diaper the other night, and when I went to change her we differed on what had happened - I said it was a big poop, and she corrected me and said, No, its dookie (Daddy's term). When I got finished cleaning her, she asked me if it was a 2 wiper or a 4 wiper. I asked Jimmy about that this morning and he said that whenever he "changes the poops" they try to predict how many wipes its going to take to get the job done. So, there's my poop story for the week.

Chris Myers, the best man from our wedding, was in town this week for work. He came up this evening and we had brought home dinner and visited. It was nice catching up with him and hearing about his 2 little boys. His youngest is two weeks younger than Corry. Drew was in rare form this evening, but not necessarily in a good way. He had the biggest meltdown I've ever seen from him. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for next week when all the family gets here!

I guess that's all I have for tonight!

Happy Easter!

So this is the best I could do for a picture with both of them! They just won't sit still long enough for me to get a good sister brother shot! We had a good easter - the Easter Bunny brought the kids a new swimming pool, unfortunately it was too cool yesterday to blow it up. We had a nice party at Grandma Chebs & Grandpa Bob's house last night, unfortunately I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me because I ended up not feeling so hot!

Oh yeah - the big girl room is DONE! Corry doesn't understand why Uncle Warren and Aunt Sandi are going to be sleeping in her big girl room though! We told her that they won't fit in her baby bed, so we need her to stay in there until after the wedding, and then she'll get to move into her big girl room. She seemed okay with that!

Movie Time!

We are taking Corry to see her first movie tomorrow - I can't wait to see how she reacts. I've been trying to prepare her for what's coming, so I'm going through the process step by step - First, we'll stand in line and buy our tickets, then we'll buy popcorn, a Dr. Pepper, & maybe some candy......then she interjects with "Wait! Why do we have to buy a ticket?" and I'll explain, then she'll say, "Wait! Why do we have to buy Dr. Pepper?" Then Jimmy made the mistake of saying, actually its not Dr. Pepper, its Mr. Pibb. She freaked out and said she didn't want Mr. Pib, she just wanted Dr. Pepper. (She's only had sips of Dr. Pepper every now and then, so I'm not sure why she's so adamant on the Dr. Pepper thing!) We're taking her Friday before naptime, so we'll see how it goes. Drew is going to stay with Grandma Connie. Wish us luck with Horton Hears a Who :) I'm excited just to go to the movies - its been months!

Favorite Stories for this week......

My favorite Corry story this week is when she was doing cannon balls in the bathtub - I told her she needed to stop or she would have to get out. She told me "splashing in the bathtub is not acceptable, splashing is for outside in the swimming pool." So, even though she may not always follow our advice, at least I know she's listening!

The best Drew story is from Tuesday night - Corry, Calyn, & Drew were all taking a bath together. Drew had been very gassy all day, according to mom, but had never pooped. While they were in the tub he squatted down, bubbles started rising, and he was making very distinctive noises, so I quickly got him out of the tub and set him on the Elmo potty seat on the regular toilet thinking if he was going to poop without a diaper on, it might as well be in the potty. As soon as he got on the potty though he completely lost concentration and grabbed the toilet paper and started wiping.....but he was wiping in the front where boys don't typically need to wipe. He was having a blast with the toilet paper!

In wedding news, Deachi, Kara (the matron of honor) and I all went to get our bridesmaids dresses fitted. The former maid of honor had already had her dress altered and was a lot smaller than any of the rest of us. Since her dress fit me in the hips the new matron of honor got my bridesmaid dress that was too big for either of us & she's having it altered down. I'm getting the small dress and they are using the extra material from Deachi's size 24 to make mine work. Deachi doesn't acutally get hers fitted until the week before the wedding since we have no idea how much more she will expand, but there was sooooo much extra material they could safely cut the amount needed to make mine bigger. We'll see how it turns out! We can't wait for all our family to get here for the wedding - its going to be a blast!!!!!

The Big Girl Room

The big girl room is getting closer & closer to being finished. The woodwork has 2 coats of primer and is 40% caulked. As soon as its 100% caulked we can put on the final coats of paint. Corry is too cute - every morning when she wakes up the first words out of her mouth are "Is my big girl room finished yet?" She is so excited to sleep in her big girl bed. Hopefully she'll still feel that way when the time comes to actually move into the room.

Drewsky seems to be relapsing into his clingy stage which is exhausting for both Grandma Chebs and me. Hopefully this phase won't last too long and he'll be back to being a happy camper by wedding time! Time will tell!

Not too much else going on with us this week. We're looking forward to Olech & Lindsay's couples shower this weekend!
