Last night the kids helped Jimmy replace the inside of the toilet - it was taking forever to refill the tank, so it was time to replace the guts. Notice Corry's cute new shorter do? I'll try to get a better picture later....
We're all fighting sore throats, coughs, snots, etc....nobody is too bad off, just enough to be annoying.
Drew got popped in the nose tonight - but not on purpose. Jimmy was lifting weights & Drew ran behind him at exactly the wrong moment. I think it looks like he has a little bruise forming :(
Tomorrow I'm reading to Drew's class! I have butterflies already - getting up in front of a group of people has never been something I enjoy - even if they are only 4 year olds. Wish me luck!
Here are a few pictures from the toilet repairs.

Save Your Kisses for your Mama!
Corry has a behavior stick at school. They all got to decorate their clips at the beginning of the year & their names are on the bottom. Only the teacher & the student knows whose clip is whose. They are supposed to strive to stay on green on the stick. I believe there is yellow, then orange, then red. For yellow the student gets warned. Orange a note goes home to the parents. Red the parents get a phone call.
At dinner this evening Corry told me that Evan got put on orange today. I asked her why. She said "He did something that I thought was nice, but Mrs. Nolan said it was not acceptable for school." I asked her what he did. She said "he kissed me on my shirt, so Mrs. Nolan put him on orange." I asked her where on her shirt he kissed her - see photo:
UGH. At least Corry just thought he was trying to be nice - I need these boys to back off my baby girl!
Here are a few more pictures from the last few days!
Drew has discovered a love of the computer. I have to fight him for it constantly. He doesn't like sitting in a chair to play though - he needs to get up close & personal.

When Corry told Jimmy about it & showed him where he kissed her, Jimmy asked her if Evan was an older kid in class, like 12 or 13 or something. Evan is 6 - he's one of those summer boy birthdays that is just now starting kindergarten. Corry told us that Mrs. Acuff (the assistant teacher) told the class that they need to save their kisses for their mamas.

I love this picture of the two of them - but not the circumstances behind their happy faces - I was patting Corry on the cute little bootie & she ripped a big manly greasy fart. I asked her if she was trying to blow my hand off or something. She said "I didn't want you patting my bootie." They both thought it was hilarious.
I aksed Corry to give me a smile with her eyes wide opened. I sort of got a terrified looking result. Funny though.
Handsome little guy
Corry loves cats. For Jimmy's birthday she chose for him this gigantic inflatable Halloween Cat. It's 9 feet tall. I think its going to go in our backyard since I'm not a huge fan of these inflatables. Right now he's deflated under the stairs waiting for October to arrive. Isnt' it enormous??? We may put him in the front yard Halloween weekend.
It's head swivels & everything!
Tomorrow Mom, Deachi, & I leave for Kansas City for Kelly Gale's wedding - a great excuse to escape for a girls weekend. Looking forward to seeing all the family that will be in attendance!

Drew at school
Drew's teacher just updated his website....so I thought I'd post a picture of him in school (see Corry's below).
What do you think? Is he patiently waiting in line to use the computer next, or devastating the little girl behind him by stomping on the naked babies?

Rearranging Furniture, Go Pokes, Meow, & a Crush
Been awhile since I've updated the blog, so I'll try to do my best to recap the last week!
The kids are both really enjoying school - unfortunately Drew is only enjoying it if he feels certain that Calyn is going to show up for class. Deachi let me know that Calyn told Drew he needs to make his own friends. Hopefully he'll take her advice and make some of his own friends, but since we're only one week in, I'm going to cut him some slack.
Corry's loving Kindergarten & got to be the line leader today. Tomorrow she'll get to be the door holder.

Here are a few pictures to recap our weekend:
Drew decided our furniture needed rearranging. Whoever sits in this chair will enjoy getting toasty by the fire. Hopefully the fabric is flame resistant.
The love seat looks much better turned around facing the staircase. Whoever sits here will need to have really short legs, because it is shoved all the way against the wall
Just liked this cheesey smile little lady - getting ready to head to her gymnastics class. She did a handstand on the balance beam!!!
Drew getting ready to cheer the Cowboys onto a huge victory
Corry got a new Furr Real cat & Drew got a RC Woody shake & roll car
Handsome little man
So, I got home from work today & Corry told me that there is a boy in her class named Cole who is very handsome. She said she really likes him, but he pays no attention to her. She told me that Cole is who she is going to marry. What do you think? I think Cole is pretty cute too, but I'm really not ready for my baby girl to start taking an interest in boys already! Yikes!
This is what happens to a little maniac after having his first full day of prek (9am to 2pm). The only thing he's told me about school is that he went potty all by himself & he did it standing up!
And an update on Meghan - she had to go back to the vet last week because she had an ear infection. The vet said the reason she's running into things is because she has cataracts in both eyes. She had lost 2 pounds because she was pretty much only eating every 3 days or so. They've started her on her pain medication, but all in all she seems to be doing okay. The coughing spells have pretty much stopped. I've discovered that if I feed her canned dog food she eats like a champ, so that's what she's getting now. She's definitely slowed down, but she's still excited to see us when we get home & is always ready for her dog treats, so I think her quality of life is still pretty good at this point.
That's about all I can think of to recap for now! So far, so good on the school front - hopefully they'll continue to enjoy it as much as they have this first week.
