It's been almost a year since Corry lost her 1st & 2nd teeth...tonight we made it number 3! Every night after I read her a chapter of her book she gets 10 tight squeezes, 10 kisses, and 10 wiggles of whatever tooth is loose. Tonight when I wiggled it was very evident that top tooth was hanging on by a thread. We tried to get her to pull it out, but she just couldn't quite get it....it was bleeding profusely, so we got her some toilet paper to blot, then I left to go put Drew to bed. Within minutes she was out of her room & shouting "I lost it!" A whole new smile for a princess...

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!
Today was Drew's t-ball debut & Uncle Olech & Daddy's coaching debut. Our team this season is the Red Sox! We kicked off the morning by watching Max play (aka stand in the field & occasionally shed a tear or two). I didn't have any great pictures of Max because he was too far away & I didn't bring the right lens. I figured I shouldn't butt into the views of the people who actually had children playing on the team, so I mainly just cheered. I know Mom & Deachi got plenty of pictures and videos, so be sure & check for them on Deachi's blog....Deachi's pictures that is. Nobody ever gets to see Mom's pictures.

Calyn sporting Drew's hat & doing what Calyn does best - crossing her eyes. Drew's game started at 9:30. We were the home team, so he started the game off in left field

Fireplace & Flamingos
Today they came and finished our fireplace! The put the top on the hearth. I'm glad we went with the bricks on top - it will make a much more comfortable place to sit. If we had done stone it would have been jagged and rough.
They also finished fixing our sprinkler system, so maybe we'll get to start planting some landscaping soon! Yea!
Corry was obviously learning about Wants vs. Needs. She made this cool little picture. The top part was my favorite - for Shelter - "I need a house, but I want a fansy house." Notice the fancy house has a pink flamingo in the front yard. Obviously related to her Grandma Chebs!

Star of the Week!
Corry is star of the week at school this week. She spent lots of time creating her poster - she designed, decorated, & labeled everything herself.

Lights, Fans, Stone, Brick.....
Today lots of progress was made on the stone front...unfortunately they didn't order quite enough, so it won't be finished this week as hoped. They said 7-10 days, but I have learned to take that to mean 3-4 weeks at the minimum. Hopefully they will prove me wrong. Here are some pictures:
Fireplace and hearth. I think we've decided to make the top of the hearth brick and we don't have enough for that, so some will have to be ordered.
Excuse all the junk. Jimmy plans to build a storage shed to keep all the pool toys/supplies
Column with brick top & light fixture. All the bricks we used were left over from when we built the house, so that came in handy. Too bad we ran out.
Lights & ceiling fans, which you can't really see because they are spinning.
The unfinished columns until more brick & stone arrive
Princess Corry
Mocha rolled in brick dust, so I was trying to get a picture of him - I got more Drew actiion than Mocha action
Mocha doing his best to dye himself pinkish/white

Patio Furniture
I ordered our patio furniture last night! It should be delivered between 4/7 and 4/23 sometime!
I wasn't going to order the chaise lounges, but decided I didn't want to regret it later, so I went ahead and just did it anyway! Pictures:

Fireplace Construction
Today they started construction on our fireplace. It appears to me that they got the guts all done. They also delivered the stone for the fireplace and the bottom half of our support columns. Pictures:

Mr. Accident Prone & other updates
Drew is killing me! I cannot believe he's not broken anything in the past 2 weeks. He fell out of the germ tree over spring break. This past weekend he got a little carried away bouncing on the diving board & bounced himself right off the side. He scraped his back on the flagstone & fell in the pool. He managed to swim to the side, shed a few tears, and get back to being a maniac.
Saturday night Deachi, Matt, Jimmy & I were sitting at the dining room table enjoying a steak dinner when we heard a horrid crash, crying, and Corry come running out screaming "Drew fell off the top bunk!" He had thrown a squishy slimy lizard thing up onto the ceiling & it had stuck. He was trying to knock it down with a blanket & tumbled off the top bunk. He was complaining of his arms hurting, but he seems to be fine now. He did cut his tummy on an open drawer he hit on his way down, but a Spiderman bandaid made that all better. Mom and Dad said he fell of something at their house today & hurt his wrists again. I feel certain we'll have something in a cast before the end of the summer if we keep this up! Ugh!
Deachi & I signed the boys up for T-Ball this weekend. They start next week with practices and their first game will be in a couple weeks. I sure hope he enjoys it! I'm not sure Drew is all that excited about it, but Jimmy is!
The kids start their swimming lessons tomorrow, I'm hoping they enjoy it.
Corry got her report card for the 3rd nine weeks - again, great grades and really nice comments from her teachers. She had a 97 in math, 96s in language, social studies & science and all Es in Art, Music, & PE. This school year has just flown by. I'm hoping she continues her love of school! It amazes me how much these 1st graders are learning. Tonight we were driving home from dinner at Market Street when Jimmy got behind someone driving really slow. He & Corry were trying to decide if the guy was going to stop at the entrance ramp to the feeder road, or if he would keep moving like you are supposed to. Corry guessed that he was going to stop. The guy surprised us all and kept moving like they were supposed to instead of stopping, and Corry said "My hypothesis was incorrect." Really? I don't think I knew what a hypothesis was until at least junior high. I guess there's a reason her school gets an "exemplary" rating every year. We're very happy with our decision to go ahead and put her in public school. We enroll Drew in kindergarten next week. I hope he loves Powell as much as Corry does!
They finally delivered the guts to our fireplace today. The mason is supposed to be here tomorrow to start building it. I think it's about a week long process IF the weather cooperates, so maybe, just maybe, the construction will all be finished within the month.
Lastly, our old lady, Madison Elizabeth Dautrich, AKA Maddie, AKA, Meemers, AKA Maddie Mad Dog turned 15 years old yesterday! She's a little gimpy in the back hip area, and has that huge growth on her side, but otherwise seems to be pretty spry for such an old timer. Hoping she doesn't break our hearts anytime soon. Will try to post some pictures tomorrow evening
